Natspec has launched its 2021 Manifesto for the Senedd Elections on 6 May.
We believe that every young person, regardless of the challenges they face should have the opportunity to pursue further education to fulfil their aspirations and be best prepared for post-college adult-living. We recommend the next government focuses on three key areas in order to improve outcomes for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities in Wales. They are:
- High quality education and training
- A system that works for young people
- Brighter futures
Clare Howard Natspec’s CEO said:
We want the next Welsh Government to commit to supporting specialism in further education so that young people with learning difficulties and disabilities can achieve their potential. Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Transformation includes ambitious plans and it is vital to the life chances of young people with complex needs that they are provided with education and training opportunities able to meet needs and aspirations. We need to act now to ensure the ALN system delivers on the good intentions of the reforms.
