Safeguarding supervision service

The Safeguarding supervision service provides designated safeguarding leads (DSLs), deputy designated safeguarding leads (DDSLs) and safeguarding staff with a structured and supportive space to reflect on safeguarding responsibilities. Facilitated by an experienced SEND safeguarding professional, regular, formal supervision sessions are offered one-on-one, in groups, or on an ad hoc basis which create a safe space for practitioners to slow down, explore options, and clarify next steps, leaving them more confident and empowered to act in the best interests of young people. The supervision process will:

  • focus on safeguarding practice: space to review cases, decisions, and safeguarding concerns
  • supports you in meeting statutory and organisational safeguarding duties
  • provide guidance in risk assessment, thresholds, and escalation
  • offer the opportunity to process the impact of safeguarding work and prevent burnout
  • through regular sessions ensure safeguarding remains a priority in day-to-day practice.
