General Description
We provided employmability programmes to young people aged 16-25 years old with Special Educational Needs.
Catchment Area
We are a Specialist Education provider accepting young people from across London and the surrounding areas of Hillingdon.
Curriculum
At Green Corridor, we offer Horticulture, Catering and Personal Employability pathways for our young people. These programmes allow our learners to gain the skills, qualifications and confidence needed to progress onto further education or employment.
Depending on the level of the learner will determine their core aim and their group. We deliver two main aims. At entry level they work towards an employability-based qualification that will focus on their chosen pathway. This is a fully accredited qualification from NOCN. If the learners are working at level 1 or level 2 they will work towards a core aim in progression in their chosen pathway. The level 1 & 2 are also fully accredited by SEG. We have the approach that the curriculum is individualised and depending on the learner we will teach skills needed for either Horticulture or Catering. This bespoke approach is designed to meet the needs of the individual learners, helping them to develop skills they already have and things they need to improve upon to help them get to where they want to be.
Specialist Facilities
In addition to the employability pathways, we offer Functional Skills to all our learners and they are able to progress through qualifications from Entry 1 to Level 2.
At Green Corridor, we provide a diverse array of therapeutic interventions tailored to the specific requirements outlined in learners' Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). These interventions encompass Speech and Language therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Counselling. Additionally, learners are afforded the opportunity to participate in sensory circuits during morning sessions, ensuring their individualised needs are met.
Collaboratively, our team of therapists, working in conjunction with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), engage in comprehensive assessments of learners at Green Corridor. This diligent process includes a thorough review of all EHCPs at the commencement of each academic year. This proactive measure enables the discernment of the precise type and quantity of therapeutic interventions essential for each learner's optimal progress and well-being.
To further fortify the support framework, we have integrated universal therapy strategies within the classroom setting. Notably, methodologies such as the Zones of Regulation and techniques for managing emotions have been seamlessly embedded into the daily learning experience by our dedicated tutors. This ensures that all learners, irrespective of their specific therapeutic requirements, have access to a consistent and inclusive educational environment that prioritises their holistic development.
Additionally, learners are able to engage in enrichment sessions such as educational trips out to practise skills such as money-management and their life skills. We offer boxing and football sessions weekly to our learners to improve their physical and mental wellbeing as well as develop their fine motor skills.
