About the students
Fairfield College is a specialist college for young people with SEND between the ages of 16-25. We are a registered Charity providing education, training and a range of residential, day and weekend opportunities.
We are situated in the village of Dilton Marsh in Wiltshire. Our sites include a wide range of teaching and learning areas, including: a student common room, student canteen, bakery, animal park, market garden shop, dog daycare, Weavers pub (run by students) market garden and professional poly tunnel.
All young people are invited for an assessment and you will get an opportunity to try all subjects and meet the staff team.
Our college programmes include:
- Independent Skills covering independence training and skills to keep yourself safe and well.
- Vocational learning (practical skills, digital skills, small animal care, equine therapy, market garden and horticulture).
- English, maths and IT.
- Work-based learning (pub, hospitality, reception duties, café, retail, customer care and office skills, animal park maintenance and animal care).
- Regular external work experience, initially with an appropriate level of support available through our Careers Team.
- Advice and Guidance available from our Careers Manager.
- The Foundation Programme for young people with PMLD.
- A range of on-site therapies including Speech and Language, Communication, Lego Therapy, Art (Drawing & Talking), Equine Facilitated Leanrning and Talk Therapy (BACP Registered).
- CEOP Traning
Fairfield Trust also offers a range of services for young people including: residential care, the STEPS programme (developing independent living skills), short breaks, and respite. The Living Well service also supports young people within their local community following bespoke packages. examples include travel training, attending a work placement or learning to access social activities.

- The L1 Hospitality Programme is available for people interested in working in customer service who have completed the two year study programme.
- The Work Skills Programme provides opportuities to develop real-life work skills at a higher level on completion of the two year study programme.
