About the students

Uniquely, within a mainstream FE college setting close to all local amenities, Weston House provides a highly professional care, support and social education provision for young people with disabilities. We are able to meet the needs of those who require varying degrees of personal and social care support to maintain optimum levels of independence, and academic achievement.  The provision is available for young people with learning, physical and sensory disabilities.

Weston House welcomes applications from male and female students who are leaving or have left school and are aged 16 to 25. We have 35 bedrooms over two floors. All are accessible for people with mobility issues but one wing includes specific adaptations and adjustments to meet the particular needs of those with a physical disability These include electronic “rise and fall” beds, overhead hoists, an adapted shower, wet room and toilet facilities. For personal care, a choice as to the gender of your care staff will be offered whenever possible.

With a team of experienced staff, qualified care officers and a variety of experienced support staff, we ensure the provision of an appropriate care programme, which is student centred and individualised, in a supportive, stimulating, nurturing and non-restrictive environment.
