We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our teaching staff with the following vacancy:

  • Teacher of Art

The position is based at our College Site in Brighton and will be supporting our 19 – 25 learners.

Teacher of Art

The role of the Teacher of Art is important in ensuring that the School and College meet the educational, social, emotional and physical needs of all Learners. St. John’s aims to work on a ‘team approach’ but there are specific roles and responsibilities attached to this post:

  • To take specific curriculum responsibility and accountability for developing, leading, coordinating and delivering the Creative Arts programme at St John’s.
  • To show initiative and innovation in leading the development of a creative enterprise programme.
  • To contribute to planning and management of a creative enterprise.
  • To seek opportunities to develop projects with other curriculum areas such as music, performing arts and multi skills.
  • To develop and deliver a creative arts programme that is accessible to learners with a broad range of abilities and complex needs.
  • To create a stimulating Creative Arts environment with effective displays and resources.
  • To set challenging learning objectives and to monitor progress so learners are supported and stretched to achieve their best possible outcomes.
