Natspec Games

Since 2016, Natspec has been organising the Natspec Games. This national sport competition provides inclusive sporting opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities across Natspec member colleges.

The Natspec Games, supported by AoC Sport, are held each year. Host colleges provide a variety of inclusive sporting opportunities for students to take part in. Fun is the aim of the day, but we also give students a chance to demonstrate and celebrate their skills.

Most years, we also host an online Virtual Natspec Games Week to increase the accessibility and inclusivity of our programme. This online week usually involves a selection of daily live workouts and activities – held on Zoom – that colleges can take part together, as well as a whole host of pre-recorded workouts and activities that can fit around curriculum delivery (these are hosted on our YouTube channel for easy access).

This video was taken at the 2019 South West Natspec Games, hosted at ROC College, and shows the range of activities on offer to the students.

For more information about the Natspec Games and future sporting opportunities for young people with SEND, please get in touch with us at info@natspec.org.uk

Could you host a Natspec Games event?

AoC Sport are always on the lookout for willing hosts for our in-person games events. Each year we aim to provide at least threes venues across the North, South and the Midlands during the summer term. AoC Sport will provide funding and support to help you run your event for other Natspec colleges to attend. If you would be interested in hosting, please let us know at info@natspec.org.uk and we’ll pass on your details!
