Expanse Learning are seeking a self-motived SEN Specialist Tutor (Functional Skills English) to join their team. The role of a SEND teacher will be to lead a small classroom team to deliver a High Needs Support 16-24 Supported Internships Study Programme. They will be familiar with the preparation for adulthood framework and be a highly enthusiastic and skilled teacher with a demonstrated passion for teaching students with SEN/SEMH (Special Educational Needs and/or Social, Emotional & Mental Health).
Reporting to the Learning Manager on a day-to-day basis the postholder will be accountable for planning and delivering a functional skills curriculum to college supporting achievement of personal targets and/or English qualifications. They will deliver high levels of success for their students in terms of attendance levels, development of knowledge & skills and achievement of targets, whilst complying with company policies and procedures. They will have significant experience gained within the Post 16 SEN sector, excellent communication skills and good time management, as effective planning of workload is an essential part of their student’s success.
