Accessing member benefits

If your college is a member of Natspec, you are entitled to a number of member benefits. This page gives details of how you can make use of some key aspects of your membership. If you would like to access a service listed on our member benefits page, but it’s not covered below, please contact info@natspec.org.uk and we’d be happy to help.

Members area

Any member of staff at a Natspec member organisation can register for their own account on our members area. If you have not already set up your own account, you can do so using the ‘New User? Click here to register’ option on the login page. If you forget your password at any time, you can reset this using the ‘Forgot password? Click here to reset’ link. You must use your college email address to register. If you have any issues, please send further information (including a screenshot of the error) to comms@natspec.org.uk

Please note that it may take a couple of days after your organisation first joins for our system to update with your college domain name. If you are still experiencing issues registering for your account 5 working days after your organisation has joined Natspec, please email comms@natspec.org.uk with a screenshot of the error.

Once logged into the member’s area, you can access our chat forum and other members-only resources (more information on these below).

Briefings and newsletters

Staff at our member colleges are entitled to receive our member-only briefing. This is sent out fortnightly by Clare Howard. If you would like to receive this briefing, please send an email to comms@natspec.org.uk.

Members of staff can also sign up to our public mailing list. This way you will receive information about training from our Transform and TechAbility services, and news and updates from across the sector.

Affiliate members can sign up for our Affiliates briefing, which is sent out once per month with information relevant to specialist provision in the wider sector. Again, please email comms@natspec.org.uk to be added to the list.

Training and development

Natspec’s Transform and TechAbility services provide a training offer, the costs of which are discounted to members. All upcoming training is listed on the Transform and TechAbility pages, or on our events calendar. If you would like to commission any of our content as in-house training, this can also be arranged by contacting the email address on the relevant training page.

Both services also run regular webinars. Even if you can’t attend our webinars in person, you can find the webinar recordings on our YouTube channel.

Natspec Innovation Awards

We encourage all of our members, older and newer, smaller and larger, to consider applying for a Natspec Innovation Award. Keep an eye on the awards information page for categories, criteria and dates!

Natspec forum

We host an online forum where colleagues from member colleges can discuss things and ask for advice. You need a user account on the Natspec website to access this (please see instructions for this at the top of this page). If you require further help with using the forums, we have created a guide to the Natspec forums which explains how to register and post.

Natspec shared resources

We have collated a lot of various resources across our website on topics such as quality, curriculum, safeguarding and finance. These can all be found in our resources section.

Natspec members can also access our SharePoint site which holds example college policies, job descriptions and a range of other shared documents. Please email comms@natspec.org.uk to request the link.

Natspec networks

Natspec organises a wide variety of free, member-only networks. We welcome any member of staff at our member colleges to join the networks relevant to them to share best practice, discuss ideas, and meet staff in similar roles from across the Natspec membership. You can find more information about the networks here.

College directory page

Each Natspec member college has a dedicated page on the Natspec website, sharing details about the organisation to prospective learners and their parents. The information on these pages needs to be updated and maintained by the colleges. This can be done through the directory portal. If you know the login email but have forgotten the password, this can be reset on the page. If you are unsure who in your organisation the directory account is registered to, please email comms@natspec.org.uk
