General Description

Landmarks Specialist College offers bespoke pathways of education to young adults from 14+, with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.  Our curriculum is based on a young adult’s needs, aspirations and interests.  We offer a unique, practical curriculum, with embedded specialist therapy support provided by staff experienced in working with learners with a variety of needs.

  • Expertise in meeting the needs of students with autism spectrum disorder
  • Expertise in meeting the needs of students with behavioural difficulties

  • Expertise in meeting the needs of students with Asperger syndrome
  • Expertise in meeting the needs of students with autism spectrum disorder with associated challenging behaviour
  • Expertise in meeting the needs of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties

Curriculum

Through assessment and regular reviews of progress learners have the support of our multi-disciplinary team ensuring that every learner follows an educational pathway that promotes their future aspirations. Our pathways are tailored to provide opportunities, not only in the college but in the wider community, ensuring the best possible outcomes for learning and transition into adult life.  

Learners benefit from embedded English, maths, independence skills and employability focused pathways with work experience opportunities within their chosen career pathway. Vocational options available are: Horticulture; Large and Small Animal Care; Equine and Horse Care; Hospitality & Catering; Retail; Domestic Services; and Estates and Grounds Maintenance.  

All pathways are accredited through a variety of nationally recognised qualifications from pre-entry up to level 2. Our offer can be delivered in a variety of locations, with the majority of our learners accessing one of our college sites - though for some learning can take place within the home location or work experience opportunities.
