General Description

The College was established in September 2016 to provide specialist supported further education and training to young people aged 16-25 with a diverse range of learning and behavioural difficulties including SEMH all who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).   Goldwyn College offers a range of practical pathways which are individually tailored to effectively prepare learners for adulthood, independence and sustainable employment.  The College provides an inclusive adult learning environment and encourages and supports all individuals to engage in learning whatever their goals.

Currently the College predominately offers vocational training in Construction, Motor Vehicle Technology including Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Motor Cycle Maintenance and Vehicle Body Repair along with Maths, English, Employability & Life Skills as well as a Foundation Learning programme for those learners with more complex needs.   

The College offers accredited programmes from Entry Level to Level 2, each of one year duration, allowing progression into the next level in the following year.

All learner programmes include the core subject as well as Maths and English (in either Functional Skills or GSCE where appropriate), Life Skills and Employability.  Study programmes are delivered over a 4/5 day week.

Specialist Facilities

The College is located across four sites in Kent.  The College provides excellent workshop and classroom facilities with up-to-date training resources.

Goldwyn College’s main site is located at Leacon Road, Ashford and is a 10 minute walk from the Ashford International train station.   The College delivers accredited qualifications in Motor Vehicle Technology, Welding and Fabrication, and Vehicle Body repair - all accredited through The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and City & Guilds.

Goldwyn College Construction study programmes is located in a dedicated unit within the Goldwyn School site situated in Great Chart, Ashford.  A number of courses are on offer including Multi Skills (providing a pathway for other main construction subjects), Carpentry & Joinery or Bricklaying.  Construction subjects are all accredited through City & Guilds.  

Goldwyn College Folkestone is located on the top floor within Goldwyn Folkestone School and delivers our Foundation Learning Programme including PSD, Life Skills, Maths and English, ICT, Sport, Health & Social Care and Hair.  Learners on the Foundation Programme have the opportunity to access a 1 or 2 day programme on the main College Vocational options in Motor Vehicle, Body Repair, Motorcycles or Construction.

Goldwyn College Motorcycle Repair and Maintenance is located at a dedicated unit in New Romney and offers fully accredited courses in Motorcycle Maintenance through IMI.
