General Description

David Lewis College offers an holistic learning environment for young people with moderate-complex learning difficulties, neurological conditions (including epilepsy and autism) with associated behaviours and communication difficulties.

Our multi-disciplinary approach provides on-site therapists, medical specialists, specially trained staff and excellent facilities.

We are situated on a spacious campus in rural Cheshire, close to local towns and Manchester.

Curriculum

Each student has an individualised timetable which is designed to suit their needs, interests, aspirations and long term goals.

Five courses, according to educational functioning. Course aims:

Course 1: To develop total communication through a sensory curriculum with integration of therapy and communication

Course 2: To develop communication and daily living skills through a practical based curriculum. Therapy is integrated to facilitate improved communication and behaviour management

Course 3: To develop functional skills through experiencing practical, vocational and curriculum focused learning

Course 4: To access a range of vocational learning opportunities in preparation for voluntary/supported employment

Course 5: To gain the necessary skills to secure and sustain supported employment, or employment

Work experience and where appropriate, qualifications and accreditation are important elements of the placement.
