  • This event has passed.

Event details

Date:

Tuesday 6 October 2026

Time:

3:45pm–5:00pm

Location:

This event is run as part of the ETF’s Centres for Excellence in SEND programme.

This Natspec-run session will explore the ways in which learners recognise their progress and success. It will consider a range of strategies for promoting self-reflection and ownership of skills development.

Who is this for?

The session is for teachers and practitioners in the FE and skills sector and learning support staff.

Training aim

This session, facilitated by Natspec, will review how the explanation and use of RARPA in education can motivate learners to monitor their own progress and recognise their achievements. It will consider how collaborative working between staff and learners can provide robust evidence of progress being made and understood by all involved.

Outcomes

  • Consider how learners can have ownership of their outcomes and monitor their own progress.
  • Explore how introducing a RARPA model to learners may be useful in owning progress and reflecting on what’s next.
  • Reflect on current methods of collaborative work between staff and learners to recognise progress, set targets and identify success.
