Technology can be the gateway to control, communication and independence for learners with PMLD. This course is designed to cover not only the types of technology which can support independence, but also the techniques in delivering these in an effective manner.
Also covered will be the background knowledge, assessment skills and multi-disciplinary working required to ensure learners get the right technologies to support their desired outcomes.
Subjects covered will include:
- Switch access to screen-based devices
- Switch access to physical devices
- Eyegaze technologies
- Hardware and software to support development and breadth of learning.
- Assessment techniques and considerations
- Supporting the team around the learner to deliver effectively.
This is delivered online as a short course and places can be reserved for small numbers of staff.
Cost
The below cost is for each attendee. All attendees need to register separately.
- Natspec and Karten members £80 +VAT
- Natspec affiliates £105 +VAT
- Non-members £125 +VAT
Attendees will be invoiced after the event.

As this course has restricted places, we are limiting bookings to 4 per organisation as a maximum. For larger numbers, the training can be delivered in-house for a single organisation. This has the advantage of allowing more time for questions and tailoring the content, so it is specific to your setting.
