ZoomNatspec is leading the way in getting assistive technology to frontline staff. In this session find out how they do this through a “Champions Programme” across their member colleges and beyond.
Who is this for?
The session is for anyone who wants to get assistive technology to the place where it makes the biggest impact, to learners. This could mean leadership roles or frontline roles. No prior knowledge needed, the programme is about building knowledge from the ground up.
Training aim
This session will explore how you develop teaching, support and frontline staff to be comfortable working with Assistive Technology and how to share this technology across the organisation to improve outcomes for learners.
A nationwide champions programme has been doing just this. Running across specialist (and more recently mainstream) colleges the programme has combined expert guidance with carefully curated speakers and a large emphasis on peer support. In this session you’ll hear from both the organisers and participants in the programme, getting a real feel for what is involved and what can be learned.
Outcomes
You will have the knowledge and confidence to:
- Develop strategies to build staff confidence and competence in using assistive technology within educational settings.
- Explore methods to empower staff to champion and disseminate assistive technology practices across their organisations.
