Join our Assistive Technologist, Neil Harrod-Beck, and Director of  Starfish Labs, Neil Bevan, in this new webinar.

Starfish Labs have developed a suite of apps to help people with learning difficulties and disabilities understand the changes in society and guidance due to the pandemic. The development of the apps has been part funded by the Welsh Government, with content accessible in English and Welsh. The SEND and Makaton® content has been developed in collaboration with Derwen College, and the guidance on staying healthy by an NHS GP Champion for Public Health.

Covid-19: Staying Safe features simplified guidance on ‘What is Coronavirus or Covid-19’, different types of face covering and how to wear them correctly, how to look after your mask, when and how to wash your hands and use hand sanitiser in line with NHS and UK Government guidance, and prompts to help users keep surfaces and their home clean and sanitised.

Covid-19: Social Space introduces the guidance on ‘Social Distancing’ and ‘Support Bubbles’ and what to expect when out and about, in shops or in the open air, in line with NHS and UK Government guidance, and prompts to help users to remember to wear a face covering, how to behave in public during the pandemic, and to keep surfaces and their home clean and sanitised.

Carers, teacher, parent, or other ‘admin’ user can create custom content relevant to the user’s needs and level of understanding. For example, custom photos or videos of the learners own types of masks, familiar environment and local surroundings can be used.

Covid-19: Happy&Healthy introduces ideas to keep well and healthy both in body and mind during the pandemic and beyond.
