Pennine Camphill Community Wakefield 29 March 9.45am to 1.30pm

Intensive Interaction is an approach for teaching communication skills to those with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex needs who are still at early ages of communication.

If you run programmes in college that often struggle with this level of complex disability, then this training opportunity may have some great rewards. Find out how one college has introduced and developed the approach. Learn how a partnership between teachers and a Speech and Language therapist, has improved the fundamentals of communication for these students. It may be that your college could develop better provision or improve your local offer?

Possibly, or even more probably, some of those apparently ‘unachievable’ communication based outcomes in the EHCP can successfully managed!  The event will be informal and fun.
