This free, members-only event is designed specifically for principals and senior leaders of Natspec member organisations. We encourage all Natspec members to book a place. This event is an opportunity to access peer support, discuss leadership challenges, get the latest information about the national context and consider the future direction of the sector.
We can accommodate a second attendee from the same member college which will be charged at £90+vat.

10:30 Policy session, incorporating active networking discussions and questions for delegates, with an update on Select Committee recommendations for the Schools White Paper (including SEND reform), the FE & Skills White Paper, and policy developments in Wales.
12:00 The Power of Specialist FE campaign, its aims and purpose, key messages, activities, national and local lobbying and resources to help you get involved and make the case for specialist FE in your area.

13:45 Networking and introduction to the afternoon session
14:00 The new Ofsted framework 2025: Maria Navarro from Ofsted will outline the process undertaken to design the new framework, and how it will operate from November.
Alex Barton, Head of the FE System Oversight and Performance Unit from DfE will explain how DfE will use the framework for contracts, compliance and intervention.
15:15 Further updates and information, covering Natspec work on governance, leadership, staff networks, new training and development, conference and major events in 2026, and more.

Onsite parking must be booked and paid for, online, prior to arrival. A valid Vehicle Registration Number is required when booking. This can be done via www.conferenceaston.co.uk/carparking The car park access code and a permit that you need to display on your windscreen will be emailed in the confirmation. We recommend booking your place early as spaces cannot be guaranteed nearer the time of the event. Alternatively, nearby pay and display parking is available at Millennium Point.
