This is a free webinar for Natspec members only. A recording of the webinar will be made available for everyone on our YouTube channel shortly after the event.

At Portland College, staff have been working across disciplines through a series of linked initiatives. Positive Behaviour Support/Zones of Regulations and a series of health and wellbeing workshops have been developed as a core part of the curriculum. Due to this approach, the college has seen access to internal and external work placements increase significantly and the number of physical interventions decrease significantly, including at home. A key part of the success is a programme of staff development where staff from across disciplines learn from one another. A number of staff members from a variety of departments will describe the inter-disciplinary working at the college and its impact initially during lockdown that has continued to be used effectively with learners as Covid restrictions relax.

Portland College is the winner of the Natspec 2021 award for Inter-disciplinary working.
