This event is run as part of the ETF’s Centres for Excellence in SEND programme.
As part of the Community of Practice: Creating ambitious opportunities for autistic learners this free session, facilitated by Natspec, will explore the role practitioners can have in enabling autistic learners to develop friendships and other social relationships that support their well-being.
Who is this for?
This Community of Practice is for tutors and learning support staff who work with autistic learners in post 16 settings, it will be of particular value to those working in non-specialised settings where autistic learners are working alongside non-autistic peers.
Training aim
This webinar is designed to cover:
- the role practitioners can have in enabling autistic learners to develop friendships and other social relationships that support their well-being
- discuss shared approaches
- provide opportunities to hear from providers who use different tools and approaches.
Outcomes
By the end of the session you will have:
- considered the challenges faced by autistic learners in developing friendships with their peers
- considered the support and opportunities practitioners can provide to enable autistic learners to develop safe and positive relationships that support well-being into adult life.
