This event is run as part of the ETF’s Centres for Excellence in SEND programme.

Do your staff have the skills required to support effective accessible technology? This Natspec-run session will discuss a competency framework for assistive technology training and signpost to resources to enhance your progression in this area.

Who is this for?

The session is for teachers and practitioners in the FE and skills sector and manager.

Training aim

This session, facilitated by Natspec, discusses the skills required by staff to deliver effective assistive and accessible technology. Various CPD opportunities will be presented alongside a competency framework for effective assistive technology training, covering a range of roles in education.

Aimed at both managers who wish to develop a strategic approach and frontline staff who are looking at what skills they need to develop. A pathway from basic digital skills through to expert knowledge will be outlined with appropriate resources for different roles.

Outcomes

  • Increase your awareness of the skills and knowledge required for effective Assistive Technology support.
  • Identify competencies required by staff in various roles who support Assistive Technology use by learners.
