An exceptional opportunity has arisen within AoC Sport as we recruit for a newly created post of Disability Development Officer. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional with an understanding of the college sector and experience of working at a strategic level with disability sport organisations to join our policy and development team. In this role you will lead on the research, planning and delivery of physical activity and sport opportunities for students with disabilities in mainstream and specialist colleges. To do this you will need to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of partners for which you will need strong communication and influencing skills. You will have an important role in the implementation of the policy ‘Fit for College, Fit for Work, Fit for Life’ with a focus on ensuring all our activities are accessible to all students with a disability. This is an exciting time to join our team as we plan to meet the challenges of the Government and Sport England strategies as well as achieving our aim of getting every student active.
To be successful in this role you must be able to work with a wide range of partners to achieve shared outcomes, be equally happy to work collaboratively within a team and independently, be proactive in building partnerships and able to make decisions quickly. It is important that you can review and analyse new information quickly and accurately and use it to produce clear messages for a range of audiences. You should also value diversity at work, be prepared to work flexibly, manage multiple priorities and take responsibility for completing the job at hand to a high standard.
